Simon Corrin (Chair and Parent Director) – Simon is a dedicated parent of three Westmount students. Simon brings technology, leadership, community engagement, and passionate advocacy for gifted education to his role as Board Chair and Parent Director of Westmount Charter School. As CEO of Vannin Technology Consulting, he combines technical expertise with strategic vision. He served on the University Child Care Centre Society (UCCCS) board and spent over 10 years as Vice-President of the University Heights Community Association (UHCA). He wholeheartedly supports Westmount’s Inside Out Charter, which respects all aspects of giftedness, including asynchronous development. The Charter and the school aim to honor who students are while developing their self-awareness and resiliency. Achievement follows this foundation of personal development.

Myrtle Sproule (Vice-Chair and Non-Parent Director)  is a non-parent board member who is a strong advocate for gifted education and has a passion for Westmount. Myrtle has two children who attended and graduated from Westmount. She is a strong supporter of the inside-out philosophy to support all learners. Prior to commencing her term as a non-parent director, Myrtle served as President of the Westmount Charter School Parent Fundraising Society and Treasurer of Westmount Charter School Council. She has a Bachelor of Commerce from Concordia University in Montreal and a Master of Business Administration from McMaster University. Myrtle is now retired but worked as a Finance professional with over 35 years in accounting and corporate finance roles in municipal government, utility, and banking.

Cathy Feehan (Non-Parent Director) – Retired after a 30-year career at Shell as an IT professional, where she worked on multiple global projects. She played a key role in collaborating with and training staff to enhance ways of working and improve business value through digitalization. Cathy was a dedicated volunteer at Westmount Charter School for 14 years, contributing in multiple capacities, including 10 years on the School Council. Most notably, she organized the school’s largest annual fundraiser, the Spring Fling and Silent Auction, for 12 years, raising over $100,000 to support various school needs. Cathy’s two children attended the Westmount school from Grades 1 to 12, and she was involved in the organization of the three school relocations. Her deep commitment to volunteerism extends beyond Westmount, with extensive involvement with the Alberta Children’s Hospital, the Varsity Community Centre, and Right to Learn – Afghanistan. Cathy is excited to bring her experience, dedication to gifted education, and community spirit to Westmount’s board and continue supporting its mission.

David Holland (Non-Parent Director) – is a retired educator with more than 40 years of highly varied experience. He has been intimately involved in gifted education for half that time, including teaching junior and senior high Humanities courses in both the GATE program for the Calgary Board of Education and at Westmount Charter School. David was the Learning Commons Coordinator at Westmount’s mid-high for two years before he retired. He served the CBE as an AISI Learning Leader, coaching teachers to improve their assessment practices and their pedagogy, and as the system specialist for gifted education. Working in other jurisdictions with many gifted students in both congregated and inclusive settings makes David aware of how special Westmount’s nuanced understanding of those needs is. David welcomes the opportunity to extend his previous experience as a Westmount Board member (2007-09) and as a member of Westmount’s staff (2014-19) by contributing his energy and understanding to Westmount’s current board and community.

Peter Khu (Non-Parent Director) – Peter is a Non-parent board member who is focused on supporting Westmount’s inside out charter mandate. He values the goal of creating an environment where administration, staff, parents, and students can be partners in helping each child at Westmount reach their highest personal potential. Since 2011, he has been the President of the University Heights Community Association and has served on the South Shaganappi Strategic Planning Group; a regional community advocacy group within the Northwest sector of Calgary. He is also an active supporter of the arts community in Calgary and has served for two years as the President of the Tritones Rhythm Society, which brings international faculty to teach workshops at an annual tap dance festival. Peter has worked as a management consultant serving clients in North America. Currently, he is a principal in a private investment and asset management company, which has land and real estate holdings in Western Canada.

Gregory Dziech (Non-Parent Director) – is a highly accomplished senior project manager with a proven track record specializing in the management and delivery of complex enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. Current CEO of Station Creek Technologies Inc. His career has been marked by a relentless pursuit of excellence, delivering transformative solutions to organizations across diverse industries around the globe. Greg is a professional project manager (PMP) dedicated to open communications, risk management, servant leadership, cost savings, promoting safety, and project delivery.

Kimberley Bufton (Parent Director) – is a parent board member with a gifted child at the mid-high campus. Kimberley is a Partner at McLeod Law LLP and has been practicing law for 25 years. Kimberley is committed to supporting the school, children and staff of Westmount in their objective to provide an environment of learning under the inside out mandate. Kimberley obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from Simon Fraser University and her law degree from the University of Alberta.

Uthpala Tennakoon (Parent Director) is Associate Professor for Human Resources Management at the Bisset School of Business, Mount Royal University. She brings a background in finance, human resources the Board. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Moratuwa and a Doctor of Philosophy in Human Resources & Organizational Dynamics from the University of Calgary.

Justin Wang (Parent Director) – is a structural engineer with a Master of Science degree in risk management from UBC. His professional leadership experience focuses on project, finance, budget, cost, and risk management, serving public organizations such as the City of Calgary, EPCOR Utilities and Metrolinx for their well-known mega projects. He is also the Founder and Director of a project management research and education institute established in 2016 and a real estate investment and property management company established in 2013.
