Welcome to the Elementary Learning Commons

The Elementary Learning Commons is an energizing hub of activity at Westmount Charter School’s Elementary Campus!

Each week sees over 40 classes:

  • 20 regularly scheduled story time & book exchange classes where students learn library fundamentals such as literary genres and books cataloguing systems (Alphabetical & Dewey Decimal systems) plus
  • 20 computer tech classes where students use computers and iPad’s, learning digital citizenship as they explore Microsoft Word, Excel and numerous other applications.

General Information

Students are free to sign out two books at a time for a duration of 1 week. If 1 week proves to not be enough time with the book, students can renew for an additional week.

Please note that students are financially responsible for any lost or damaged resources that they have signed out.

We are grateful for our volunteers!

Parent Volunteers

We often look for parents who are available to help out in the Learning Commons during the school day or during the Book Fair.  Check out the Upcoming Events tab below to see what’s coming up. For more information on how to become a volunteer, please refer to Westmount’s volunteer web page.
