April is Trustworthiness Month, the blue pillar of Character Counts. During Student Services classes children will be learning about the meaning of trustworthiness and how they can demonstrate trustworthiness in their daily lives. Some of these ways are: being honest keeping your promises being reliable and being loyal to your family and friends.
Green month begins! March is Responsibility Month at Westmount! Responsibility is the green pillar of Character Counts. This month students will learn about what responsibility is, why it is important and ways they can demonstrate it. Some ways we can show we are responsible are: doing what we are supposed to do planning ahead, and being accountable for your actions.
During January we focus on the Yellow Pillar of Character Counts- Respect. The Golden Rule really encompasses everything about respect: Treat others the way you would like to be treated. Often children say it, but they do not fully comprehend what it means. Have a discussion with your family about what the Golden Rule really means.
