It’s that time of year – time for our annual Spring Raffle organized by Westmount Charter School Parent Fundraising Society and School Council.
This year, for the first time ever, we are excited to introduce two opportunities to win:
The raffle prize is one (1) roundtrip flight for two (2) guests to any regularly scheduled and marketed WestJet destination* (*No cash value, fees, taxes, surcharges not included, blackout dates and restrictions apply). All bookings and travel must be completed by May 10, 2024.
- 50/50 Raffle:
The raffle prize is cash in the amount of half the gross revenue raised through the 50/50 raffle ticket sales.
Last year, our gross raffle ticket sales were just under $14,000. This year, with the addition of the 50/50 raffle, we are aiming to raise $20,000 for our school, and proceeds will support initiatives for our children. These include enhanced experiences for students through field trips and in-school guest speakers, funding some busing costs, classroom support, parent education and more!
Tickets can be sold to anyone over the age of 18 who lives in Alberta.
Tickets are sold separately for the WestJet raffle and for the 50/50 raffle. You can buy for either draw individually or both. All tickets can be bought online.
Once again, we will be using Rafflebox to sell tickets electronically and to do the raffle draw. Purchases are made through a link to the Rafflebox site. Rafflebox exists to help charities and non-profits raise vital funds through an easy-to-use online raffle platform.
Raffle ticket prices are:
- 1 ticket for $10;
- 4 tickets for $20;
- 20 tickets for $50;
- 100 tickets for $100.
The draws will be done by Rafflebox through a Random Number Generator on May 10, 2023.
How can you participate?
Each Westmount family who signs up to buy and/or sell tickets will receive their own individual Rafflebox link. Families can send their link out to friends, family and co-workers and post on social media. The platform will track whose link is selling the most tickets, and we’ll give a $100 Amazon gift card to the top seller! We will also have a prize for the grade that raises the most money.
We recommend signing up under your student’s name – we won’t be displaying full names on our Rafflebox site, just first names and last initials.
To sign up for your individual link, check your weekly email communication.
Once you have signed up, Rafflebox will email you your link to buy tickets and to send out to friends, family and co-workers to buy tickets.
We ask that families sign up for their link on or before Wednesday April 19, 2023 so that there will be time to sell tickets before the draw. Ticket sales will end May 8, 2023 or when all tickets are sold, whichever happens first. The raffle draws will be made on May 10, 2023. If you don’t wish to sign up for your own link, you can purchase through a general link that we will send out in a subsequent communication.
Ticket sales will start next week once you have signed up for your personal links!
The key to fundraising success is the participation of as many families/students as possible. Together, we can achieve our goal of raising $20,000 to benefit Westmount and our children. Good luck selling those raffle tickets!
