Dear Staff and Parents/Guardians,
The attached document is provided to inform you about our school re-entry planning process and progress. The document is an overview of the areas for attention in establishing a safe and healthy environment for staff and students anticipating school re-entry in September.
Our Health and Safety Team has been working to develop a detailed plan defined in an internal working document aligned with guidance from Alberta Health Services and Alberta Education. Three possible scenarios for school re-entry are outlined in the official documents. We are planning for the most challenging Scenario 2 (In-school classes partially resume (with additional health measures) and hoping for Scenario 1: In-school classes resume (near normal with health measures).
The government has committed to communicating the decision on August 1st regarding the scenario to be implemented. We commit to communicating with staff and families about new or changing information throughout the summer and in particular, when the final decision for re-entry is made by the government.
On behalf of our central office team and our school staff, I want to express our sincere appreciation for the support and encouragement we received during this past year, and especially these past few months.
I hope you find the time and ways to rest and rejuvenate over the summer.
Joe Frank, Superintendent
