Dear Westmount Community,

It is with great pride and pleasure that I announce that one of our staff members, Ms. Connie Sullivan, is the recipient of a national award this year!

Connie submitted an application titled RIDE FOR ENERGY! to the A+ For  Energy program sponsored by Inside Education, BP Canada, TC Energy, Cenovus and Pembina Pipelines.  Connie’s project was selected as a winner for a grant of $4953.

Connie’s submission requested funding for the purchase of Electricity Generator Bikes, demonstration solar panels and wind turbines to teach renewable energy in our science classrooms.

In the email sent to Connie on June 3, the awards committee wrote the following:

“The A+ for Energy grant recognizes your creativity and commitment to energy education. Since 2007, A+ for Energy has helped to provide resources for over 400 projects, impacting more than 100,000 students.

Take a moment to celebrate your successful application as you, your school, and your students are about to join this A+ for Energy program legacy!”

Please join me in congratulating Connie.

Joe Frank, Superintendent
