What is Spring Fling?
All schools have come to depend on parent fundraising and we are grateful for the support! At Westmount, the annual, major fundraiser is the delightful, family-oriented Spring Fling and Silent Auction. This School Council event is part carnival (booths, bouncers, music, food, face painting, etc.) and part raffle/silent/live auction, to raise funds for the school. Donations are contributed by students, teachers, classrooms, parents and the community. We depend on the energy of many volunteers, the creativity and networks of the Westmount community and great attendance to make the event a success. All of this activity typically results in $20,000 in funds that are used directly by the school. We invite the entire Westmount community to join us in supporting this event, which ultimately supports our students.
How can I support the event?
There are several ways which parents, teachers, students, and the community can support Spring Fling, choose what works best for your family:
- You can volunteer (Spring Fling Volunteer Signup)
- You can donate goods or services (Donor form)
- You can seek donations in the business community (Donor letter and Donor form)
- You can support individual classrooms in creating a theme basket for the auction
- Publicize the event (Download and distribute the Spring Fling Poster). Your help in publicizing this event is greatly appreciated!
- Attend the event! You and family and friends are encouraged to attend the event to enjoy the carnival activities and auction - admission is free!
- You can use the Absentee Bid form to bid on items, even if you cannot attend. Just fill out this form and submit it via sealed envelope, or by email.

What about tax receipts?
- The donor form explains the rules around tax receipts, but basically a purchase receipt is required and the total of receipts by a person must be greater than $25 (not including GST)
