- Monday, March 15 - report cards for grades 1-8
- Tuesday, March 16 - elementary school spirit assembly, led by the grade 3s - 2:00 PM in the Gym
- Thursday, March 18 - student-led conferences for grades 1-8 (4:00-7:00 PM in the classrooms)
- March 20 to April 4 - Spring Break, no classes. Classes resume on Monday, April 5.
- Thursday, April 15 - Parent Information Night for 2010-2011 Kindergarten, 7:00 PM in the Gym. Registration forms will be available online only starting at 9:00 PM that evening - first come first served for all non-sibling applicants.

Mark your Calendar for these special events:

• Thursday, March 11, 2010 is the sixth annual Evening for Ahmad and Fawzia, a fundraising coffee house featuring Westmount student entertainment. Doors open at 6:00 PM, show starts at 6:30 PM, tickets are $5.00 at the door.
• Monday, May 3, 2010 is now a day off school for Westmount students, as Westmount is hosting Turning the Tide, a student-led initiative to provoke change in the world in coordination with the Stephen Lewis Foundation, and the Ujamaa Grandmas.

• Friday-Saturday, October 22-23, 2010, Westmount is pleased to host the first annual Pillars of Gifted Education Conference. This year's them is Affective Curriculum for Gifted, with keynote speakers Dr Tracy Cross and Dr Richard Olenchak. At all times, remember to dress your children for the elements - PLEASE ensure that your child is wearing appropriate footwear, coat, mitts, and toque as dictated by anticipated weather conditions. We do monitor the weather conditions, particularly when the temperature is approaching minus-20 wind chill, but on most days, Physical Education students of all ages, as well as elementary-grade children with recess and lunch times, can expect to be outside. Parents: here are some key factors to limiting the spread of H1N1/seasonal influenza/I.L.I.:

• Early identification of ill students exhibiting symptoms of influenza like illness (I.L.I.);
• Exclusion from the school setting of anyone with symptoms of I.L.I. (i.e., PLEASE keep your child home from school until he/she has been symptom-free for 24 hours);
• Practicing cough/sneeze etiquette and frequent hand cleaning;
• When you call the attendance line (403.217.0559) to report a student absence, please identify the main symptoms of illness.
