Westmount Charter Library

Books are the window to the world. You can travel to all corners of the earth without ever having to leave the comfort of your armchair. Books offer you opportunities to experience the magic of imagination and the practicalities of history and science. They possess no borders, so the only limits are those that rest in your mind. Free your mind and your spirit by picking up a book today.

Quote of the Month

"Painting is poetry that is seen rather than felt, and poetry is painting that is felt rather than seen."

-Leonardo de Vinci

Welcome to the Westmount Library website. The virtual library is organized so that there are separate pages for elementary, mid-school and senior high levels. The site is a work in progress and will continually be updated with additional curriculum links. Please check back weekly for valuable resource links.

The
reference centre is well worth a visit for locating general information. Reference materials such as online encyclopedias, dictionaries, atlases, and periodic tables can be accessed on this page. Links to reference portals and online databases are very good places to search for materials that have been scrutinized by publishers and librarians.

In addition to the virtual library and reference centre, visit the pages that contain book reviews for both primary and secondary titles. You will find recommended reading lists that have been compiled by various library associations.

R.E.A.D. is a student compiled and generated page that contains student book and film reviews, entertainment, student authorship and library events. While this site is in the preliminary stages, visit it on a weekly basis and see how it grows!
