Westmount Charter School Board

The Westmount Charter School Board of Directors is very pleased to announce that Mr. Joe Frank will become the Superintendent of Schools at Westmount upon the retirement of Mr. Merv Kurtz. Mr. Frank will be starting his new role on August 16th, 2010.

Mr. Frank has had an extensive career in education. Most recently he has been a Senior Education Manager for Alberta Education. Along with his many other duties in this capacity, he has been very involved with charter schools and is especially aware of the issues which surround charter schools in Alberta. He is, as well, exceptionally knowledgeable in the field of gifted education.

Prior to joining Alberta Education, Mr. Frank was Superintendent at the Calgary Arts Academy and an Area Director with The Calgary Board of Education.

We feel exceedingly fortunate to be having Mr. Frank join our administration team.

Parents and staff are welcome to attend Charter Board meetings in the capacity of observers. Individuals who wish to have an item placed on the agenda or who wish to make a presentation to the Charter Board are asked to contact the Chairperson or Secretary-Treasurer at least 2 weeks in advance.

Meeting dates are posted here and on the "monthly calendar" at right. Unless otherwise noted, meetings are at 6:00 PM in Board Room 137.
