Kindergarten Admission Process
Applications are No Longer Being AcceptedApplication to Kindergarten for the 2013-2014 school year is now closed and we will not be accepting any more applications at this time.
**Information regarding EAL testing times will be posted shortly. Please do not call the school.
Significant changes were made to our Kindergarten admission process in 2012-2013, as follows:
- In 2012, the decision was made to include Kindergarten in our programming for gifted learners. As such it is no longer a “First come, first served” selection process.
- Enrollment in Kindergarten is now based on consideration of: a) a completed application package, b) the results of tests and observations conducted on our assessment days, c) a thorough evaluation of the completed Inventory Profile.
- Siblings will continue to have first consideration for Kindergarten spaces. In order to ensure the best chance for success, however, they must meet program requirements. (see #2 above)
- Students admitted into the 2012-2013 Kindergarten class will be assessed again in March 2013 for entrance into Grade 1. PLEASE NOTE: Enrollment in Westmount’s Kindergarten program does not guarantee enrollment in Grade 1.

| Step 5: | Wait for Notification of Our Decision – April 26, 2013 |
All applicants will be notified by email of the Selection Committee's decision by April 26, 2013. Please make sure that we have your correct email in the application. |

| Step 6: | Complete the Registration Process – deadline May 31, 2013 |
| If your child is offered a place at the school, you must complete the on-line registration process which confirms your acceptance at Westmount. Please remember that acceptance into Westmount's Kindergarten program does not guarantee placement in our Grade One program the following year. | |
Please Note: It is critical that you update any changes/additions to your child’s personal information. Examples: changes to address, home/work telephone numbers, email addresses, custody issues, emergency contacts, medical conditions, allergies, and let the teacher know about any psychological or education reports. |
